They are characterized by a soft body, a well-developed head, and arms or tentacles surrounding the mouth. Known for their intelligence, speed, and unique defense mechanisms such as ink release and rapid color change, these species are found in oceans worldwide, from shallow coastal waters to deep-sea environments. They are carnivorous, feeding mainly on fish, crustaceans, and smaller mollusks, and play an important role in marine ecosystems as both predators and prey. Cuttlefish (Sepia pharaonis)

Cuttlefish are medium to large-sized cephalopods recognized by their flattened body, internal shell known as the cuttlebone, and remarkable ability to change color rapidly. Sepia pharaonis, commonly known as the pharaoh cuttlefish, is one of the most commercially important species in the Indo-Pacific region.
